Safaricom BlackBerry ™ is a push email solution that ensures secure transmission of your emails from your email server (e.g. yahoo, gmail, ISP account e.t.c) to your handheld device via our GPRS network.

BlackBerry ™ Push Technology for email service is a technology that enables you to retrieve your emails on the BlackBerry ™ device as they arrive in your inbox.

The service provides you with both Email functionalities and internet browsing features.
BlackBerry is comprised of:

Hardware – i.e. devices such as the BlackBerry 7130 Series™, BlackBerry 8100 Series™, BlackBerry 8700 Series™ and BlackBerry 8800 Series™

Software - i.e. BlackBerry Enterprise Server™ and BlackBerry Internet Service™

Service - i.e. GSM/GPRS, CDMA or iDEN phone and data services

* BlackBerry® keeps users connected to people and information while on the go with push-based wireless access to email, phone, text messaging, Internet, organizer and other data via a BlackBerry-enabled device.

* For corporate customers, BlackBerry Enterprise Server software tightly integrates with Microsoft® Exchange, IBM® Lotus® Domino™ or Novell GroupWise® to enable secure, push-based, wireless access to email and calendar.

* For individuals and smaller businesses, BlackBerry Internet Service allows users to access up to 10 corporate and/or personal email accounts (including Microsoft Exchange, IBM Lotus Domino and many popular ISP email accounts) from a single device.

· With BlackBerry “push” technology, email messages are automatically pushed to the BlackBerry device, without prompting or downloading.
